My name is Dylon Locco, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve only ever wanted to make films.
That started when I was a kid watching Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I knew I wanted to be a director, but I didn’t know anyone in the industry and I didn’t have a camera, so the only way I knew how to start was by writing. I wrote short films, feature scripts, television shows, and novels. Writing became the way I learned how stories work.
When I write, I try to follow one simple rule; what I think of as my Golden Rule:
Films are meant to make you feel something. It doesn’t have to be a good feeling.
Everything I create comes from that idea. I want you to feel something when you’re done, and ideally walk away seeing things a little differently than you did before.
Outside of narrative work, I’ve been involved in production in a lot of different ways. I’ve worked on production projects for companies, helped create and maintain ongoing podcasts, and managed and produced live streams for both businesses and charities. I also ran my own live stream and grew it to Twitch Partner status.
I’ve edited comic books and written editorials for websites as well, which has helped shape how I think about pacing, structure, and visual storytelling across different formats.
At the end of the day, everything I do comes back to the same goal: telling stories that stick with people, even if they’re uncomfortable, and even if the answers aren’t clean.
